I have been intrigued with the story of Alice Waters’ Edible Schoolyard ever since I read about it. In 1995 Alice, with student participation, transformed a rundown schoolyard in Berkely, CA, into a thriving acre of land producing fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. From California to NY, through affiliate programs, children are now taught, as part of their curriculum, about ecological awarness and our environment. Thank you Alice for doing your part in leaving the world a better place through your efforts.
