One of our main goals of Zykis is to create a vehicle or portal that facilitates making our world a better place for children and families to grow, play and learn-ultimately keeping them safe. Personally, the safety part is my main focus. But, there will be times that I will occasionally post articles on things that inspire me, which is the case of my topic today.
I was recently referred to a site: Children of the Earth United (http://www.childrenoftheearth.org/), by a friend of mine who, knowing about Zykis, suggested I go exploring. I must say, I was really moved by the expressions, goals and aspirations of this site and non-profit organization.
The Children of the Earth United was founded in 1998 by Jennifer Reinfeld, an educator and technology consultant. It is apparent that since that time her vision has reached around the globe…a few times.
Children of the Earth provides children a medium to learn about our planet earth, plants, animals, natural resources, being green and what it takes to sustain a natural balance. Furthermore, the site encourages children to express their talents through posting “nature” art and creative writings. You will find works of art and poems posted by children from around the world-Tennessee to Norway to India. Children, teachers and families have fun while learning to be good stewards of our Mother Earth. There is so much to investigate-a family exploration of this site is very worthwile, educational, and is highly suggested . Enjoy your tour!
